Celebrating with Landowners

Landowner Relations

Normally balloonists can determine where they will take off from, but usually can’t be as specific about where they might land. Balloonists count on the kindness of landowners to provide sites suitable to land their aircraft. So to keep all our landowners happy, pilots are keen to avoid dangerous areas and areas where they may damage property.

Ground crew members try to receive permission to land before it happens, but that is not always possible. Pilots use their judgment to determine the best landing sites based on wind speed, direction, and the safety needs of their passengers.

Quite often the landowners are asked to share in traditional celebrations at the end of flights.
