Scholarship for BFA Ballooning Summer Camp

For 2010, BAGI is providing sponsorships for two kids who will attend the Balloon Federation of America’s Hot Air Balloon Summer Camp.
This is the ultimate experience for those 13 to 18 who want to learn more about hot air balloons.
No need to worry if you don’t have experience handling balloons. Balloon tethers are scheduled throughout the camp (weather permitting) under the leadership of certified pilots.
As part of the event, visitations to balloon and aviation related sites are scheduled as well as plenty of hands-on activities. Past years, topic presentations and discussions have included:
- Crew safety
- Balloon Systems
- Basic First Aid
- Power line safety
- Weather
Camp Dates and Locations:
- Texas – July 11-15, 2010
- Michigan – July 18-22, 2010
Eligibility requirements for the scholarships are as follows:
- Must be referred by a current BAGI member
- Must be aged 13-18 during June 2010
- Must be able to attend either Michigan or Texas camps
- Must submit an application and narrative
- Applications will be judged by BAGI Scholarship Selection Committee
- Must submit application by May 31, 2010.
- Awards will be announced by June 7, 2010
