Hilary Fromm Hot Air Balloon Pin Collection
Hilary Fromm was a little girl with a sweetness and beauty that
shined through the challenges given to her. She was loved very much by her Mom
and Dad and her big brother Eric, and we tried to make life for her as usual as
possible, including her in many of the activities that we shared. Hilary
experienced things in a way very different from most children. Cerebral Palsy
required a wheelchair to travel, seizures impaired her ability to see and
comprehend and respond. She used a g-tube for nutrition. Yet, she was able to
enjoy-on her own level - hot air balloon chasing with her family and friends.
Hilary was one of the crew and an ambassador for living life to the fullest
potential, no matter what barriers were placed in her way.
Interestingly, the roar of the burners, frightening to most
children, brought forth squeals and giggles that tickled everyone as much as
her, breaking through the wall of her disabilities and connecting Hilary to the
world for a few brief moments.
We were fortunate to have been part of a ballooning community
that welcomed us genuinely. When Hilary died at the age of eight years, the
happy times shared with friends soothed the tremendous sadness we felt. We are
so glad to have shared our Hilary with you in her life and through our memories.
Thank You.
